Ahmed Valve and Revision of Scleral Buckle in and Eye with Glaucoma and 10 Prior Surgeries

 

This Ahmed Valve surgery is complicated because the patients has had 10 previous surgeries, one of which was a scleral buckle.  In order to make room for the plate of the Ahmed Valve, a small portion of the scleral buckle is removed.  The dissection down to the buckle, as usual, was a little difficult because the buckle was 2 years old and a fibrous capsule had grown around it..
